Software That Help in Graphic Design

If you have an idea to become a graphic designer, then you not only need the right gear, but also the right software to go along with it. So what are the software you need as a graphic designer? Which is the best graphic design software that will help you to accomplish the job with maximum speed and efficiency. Well, in order to pick the suitable software you have to understand the industry. How does the industry work? This is important because you need to use programs that other graphic designers are using. You need to learn the industry standard so that you can work efficiently with a team of designers.

The three basic programs you need to become a graphic designer are adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Inkscape and Illustrator. Now what do we need to do with every graphic design programs?

  • Photoshop is a program where you will be performing all of your photo editing and photo manipulation. You are going to make changes in the images, mask out images and air brush faces etc.
  • Illustrator is the second program which one will be using as a graphic designer. Illustrator is used to make logos or any vector graphics that you need to scale either very large or very small. Illustrator is a vector based program, which allows you to create scale-able graphics and its an important program to remember too.
  • Inkscape is a full featured cross platform. It acts as a good source of placement and a very helpful website. Inkscape in addition boasts outstanding features and a very passionate user base for a free program, but its not suitable for busy professionals.

4.The last program that you will be using for the basics in graphic design is InDesign. You will transfer all of your photos, logos and graphics into adobe InDesign and layout your finished product here. The reason being? Adobe InDesign is a workhouse for layout. It has all the necessary grid, automation and functions for peak accuracy in your graphic design work.

But why do we do all the things in the same way we do within the graphic design software? Why can’t we use Photoshop in the place of InDesign and illustrator in the place of Photoshop? Well, initially, Photoshop is a raster based program. Meaning that the image you see is made of pixels. so, whenever you zoom into the shape or photograph you will see tiny little pixels making up your image or shape.
